Fr. David will offer a Welcoming Prayer class and practice group in June and July on Mondays at 7:00 PM (see dates below). The Welcoming Prayer is meant to take the peace we experience in Centering Prayer into the rest of our lives. In a sense, it is the action to go with the contemplation of Centering Prayer. The Welcoming Prayer helps us deal with anxiety and both physical and emotional reactions to the events of our lives.
This class will review the practice of Centering Prayer briefly and then introduce the Welcoming Prayer. There will be a daily assignment as we work through a “40-day practice” to work with the prayer practice in our lives. The text associated with the class that can be purchased as a download for $20 from Contemplative Outreach. Scholarships are available.
This class will be offered as a Zoom class on Monday nights: June 1, 8, 22, 29 and July 6, 13.
To register class, send an email to Fr. David at firstname.lastname@example.org.
“The Welcoming Prayer is a method of consenting to God’s presence and action in our physical and emotional reactions to events and situations in daily life. The purpose of the Welcoming Prayer is to deepen our relationship with God through consenting in the ordinary activities of our day ― “consent-on-the-go.” https://www.contemplativeoutreach.org/welcoming-prayer
