Arts Ministry Projects in June

June 29, 12 – 3 pm : Wrap up session

Join us again this Saturday to continue working on the 75th Anniversary banner project for St. Dunstan’s, and do some Quilling (yes, quilling, a paper art form like metal filigree)!

June 8, 10 am – 1 pm & June 22, 10 am – 1 pm

We have so much creative talent in this church. Along with all the talented musicians, we also have a number of people that create things. In the past, we made the Christmas banners, greeting cards, small stockings, tree ornaments and painted rocks.

Any who are interested (any age, any ability) are invited to gather on June 8 at 10am – 1pm downstairs in Room 3. We can also check out all the supplies in the Christian Ed closet – lots of stuff.

This time around we will be working on two projects. The first one is a collage banner (or mural). Collage materials could be colored construction paper, cut-outs from printed materials (such as catalogs or magazine), photos, fabric or trims, or other 3-dimensional items. Using All are Welcome, All are Fed and All are Loved as our inspiration for each panel. This will be something the congregation can also participate in, during a coffee hour.

For those not interested in an Art project, we will have a fabric sewing project. We will make Pouches. These are small, about 7” by 9”, bags that hang around the neck. They are used to keep valuable documents safe. If we make enough, we could distribute them on Christmas Eve, at the Tuesday night Community dinner.

We will also meet June 22 from 10am to 1pm to continue our projects and think about other things we might create. (Think 75th anniversary stoles for our clergy, small gift items for our visitors and guests, door prizes for concert. The possibilities are endless.
