Significant Improvements
The vestry of St. Dunstan’s Church is considering significant improvements to our worship space, buildings and grounds in support of the mission of our congregation. We are exploring how we use our worship space, what we might do to make our building more functional for mission, and most importantly, asking about your hopes and dreams for the future.
This is the dreaming stage and we want to hear your best experiences, your ideas, your hopes, and your dreams for St. Dunstan’s Church. The vestry and several other groups, including the choir, St. Agnes Guild, and Sunday School Teachers, have already participated in Discovery Process interviews. Your chance is coming this Sunday.
Mothers’ Day Sundae Social
On Sunday, May 13, we will celebrate Mother’s Day with a Sundae Social. That’s not a miss-spelling. Bring the moms in your life to church and treat them to an Ice Cream Sundae! We will have an Ice Cream Sundae buffet to celebrate mothers after the 10:00 AM service.
While you enjoy your frozen creation, you can participate in the interview process. Not only will you have the chance to share your best experiences, you will get to hear the best experiences, and hopes for the future of other members of our congregation as we interview each other in pairs. Do try to keep the ice cream from dripping on the papers. The hopes and dreams you share in the interviews will be used to plan for future improvements.
Participate Online
If you are not able to attend the Sundae Social, you can still participate by doing an online version of the interviews here.
We need your input by Monday afternoon, May 14, because we will be reviewing the input that night to prepare for the Discovery Summit. We do not recommend eating ice cream while doing the online version of the interviews. The drips can really mess up a keyboard
Discovery Summit
On Saturday, May 19, from 9 to noon at St. Dunstan’s Church, we will hold a summit to review what we learned from the Discovery Process interviews and explore possibilities for improving our worship space, kitchen, buildings, accessibility, visibility, parking, and anything else that might help us in realizing our mission. Please put this event on your calendar and plan to attend. These summit meetings are fun and engaging, with lots of group activities, presentations of interview highlights, and (of course) good food.
Yours in Christ,
David+
