The Rev. Alan Christensen

I’ve been blessed to serve at St. Dunstan’s since 2018, first as my field education assignment and since October 2020 as an ordained deacon. I’ve lived in Shoreline since 1992 and have three children and four grandchildren. My wife Janice, who passed away in 2022, was delighted to be a part of the St. Dunstan’s community. I retired in October 2023 from the King County Sheriff’s Office, where I worked as a fingerprint examiner.

My ministry in the community is focused on helping meet the needs of the unhoused and the hungry. At St. Dunstan’s, I’m involved with the feeding ministry — gathering grocery donations, delivering food to the camps, washing pots and pans, and wherever else I can be useful. I am a Board Member and Treasurer of Camp United We Stand, a tent community that is hosted by a group of North End churches including St. Dunstan’s.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, seeing movies, solving crossword puzzles, and competitive trivia.
