School will be starting before you know it and there are families out there who cannot afford the back to school basics that every child needs to get the new academic year off to a good start. Can you help? Please place a new item in the school supply box in the narthex by Sunday, August 19. The list in the parish hall and on the box in the narthex will provide you with plenty of ideas:
backpacks • 3 ring binders (1, 2, 3˝) • spiral notebooks and loose notebook paper • (wide & college) • glue sticks, bottled glue • pencils • erasers • pencil sharpeners • colored pencils • pencil box/pouch • pocket folders • composition notebooks • notebook dividers • permanent markers • wide tip markers • highlighters • pens (red, blue & black) • narrow tip markers • rulers • blunt scissors • pointed children’s scissors • shampoo/conditioner • deodorant • toothbrushes/toothpaste • new socks and underwear (all sizes)
Please note: crayons are not needed this year.
All of the donated items will be given to students at a wonderful Back to School Event on August 25th, providing school supplies, clothing assistance and even haircuts for students from families in need in the Shoreline School District. If you don’t want to shop, monetary support is greatly appreciated as well. Either make a check out to St. Dunstan’s and mark it “School Supply Drive”, donate online at btsconsortium.org, or purchase items using the Back to School Consortium’s Amazon Wish List.
